When parents contacted Matthew Dorrance to tell him the local service bus from St John Ward to Penlan didn’t get young people to school until after the bell had gone, he took the issue up with Powys County Council and asked them to work with Stagecoach to find a solution.

The Stagecoach BR9 route to Brecon High from Trallong/Aberbran/Aberyscir will now serve St John Ward and pick up at Cradoc Close, Maes y Ffynnon and Uplands/Coryton Close bus stops.

Cllr Matthew Dorrance says:

“It’s really good news that this bus service will now be available in St John Ward and connect directly with the High School.

“I want to thank Council staff who worked with Stagecoach to help find this solution.

“The new service starts on and Monday 4^th March 2019 and I encourage young people in St John Ward will make full use of it.”
