Matthew Dorrance is working with Councillors, businesses and residents to help brighten up Brecon.

The local group get together each Sunday and spend two hours cleaning the town centre, looking after the flower beds and litter picking while social distancing.

The group have also spent time cleaning up the Prom. They’ve planted bee friendly flowers and cleaned up seating areas.

    Matthew says:

“Brecon is a beautiful place to live and work.

“It’s great to see people coming together to help brighten our town up.”

Town Councillors Rob Thomas and Marie Matthews who both volunteer added:

“By working together, we are all helping to make Brecon an even better place to live.”

Matthew has met officials from Powys County Council and the Brecon Beacons National Park. He has urged them to provide support to Brecon through town centre schemes like redecorating shop fronts and allowing cafes and restaurants to put tables and chairs in areas of the town centre.
