The winners of Cllr Matthew Dorrance’s annual Christmas Card Competition have been announced at Priory Church in Wales Primary School with a special prize giving ceremony.
Children from the St John Ward Primary School took part in the competition to design the local Councillor’s Christmas Card again this year.
The winning design, which features Christmas Robins and which will be delivered to homes in the community, was painted by Chase Miller in Year 1.
Maizy Samuel from Year 6 was awarded Second Prize and Third Prize was awarded to Ruby-Grace Ford from Year 4.
Cllr Matthew Dorrance said:
“I am very grateful to the talented young people at Priory School for their brilliant artwork. It was very difficult to pick a winning design this year because the standard was so very high.
“I know that residents in the community look forward to seeing the work of local school children on my Christmas card and they’ve been very pleased to see the Robins on this year’s card.”
Claire Pugh, Senior Teacher said:
“The children at Priory School really enjoy designing the Christmas cards for Cllr Dorrance and the residents of our community.
“Every year the children take pride and create unique designs to not only show their artistic skills, but what Christmas means to them. It is a brilliant competition to show everyone’s creativity.
“Christmas is a special time of year and as a school community with the current climate we can really see the kindness, care and support everyone has for one another.”
